Although you can choose whether to make these available universally, you cannot change the search conditions of system-defined default searches.
- All messages – This default search finds all messages. If the database has a large volume of records, you may want to turn off this search.
- All messages-Last 1 Hour – This default search finds all messages traded in the last hour.
- All messages-Last 2 Hours – This default search finds all messages traded in the last two hours.
- All messages-Last 6 Hours – This default search finds all messages traded in the last six hours.
- All messages-Last 24 Hours – This default search finds all messages traded in the last 24 hours.
- Failed messages-last days – This default search finds all messages with a status of failed within a default number days. The default number of days is the value of the Number of days for default searches field on this page.

Query restrictions
- Number of days for default searches – The value in this field is the number of days that appears in the search option Within the last [n] days under the date area on the custom search panel of the Message Tracker page.
- This also is the value for a search condition on the message attributes tab of the message details page. The value applies to the check box for Restrict search to messages that originated within the last [n] days at the bottom of the tab.
- Moreover, if you click Find without specifying search conditions on the Message Tracker search page, the search finds all messages traded within this number of days.
- This field’s value also sets the number of days for the default searches Failed messages and Negative responses on the Message tracker menu on the top toolbar.
- Maximum search results allowed to delete – The maximum number of search results you can delete with a single delete action on the Message Tracker page. For example, if more than the maximum number of search results are returned and you try to delete all results, Activator does not delete any of the messages. Instead you are prompted to define a search that returns fewer records than the maximum allowed to delete. Limiting the number of search results that can be deleted at once helps maintain database performance.
- Default number of search results to return – The number in this field is the default value of the Maximum # of search results field on the custom search panel of the Message Tracker page.
- Maximum number of search results to return – The number in this field is the highest allowed value of the Maximum # of search results field on the custom search panel of the Message Tracker page. If you are performing a search and enter a number in the Maximum # of search results field that is larger than this value, an error message displays.
- Default days for before or after date searches – The number in this field is the default value for the on a maximum [n] days period field for the After and Before option under date searches on the custom search panel of the Message Tracker page.
Collect message attributes
- Collect attributes for use in message detail pop-up windows – Select to have Activator collect attributes from traded messages. These attributes are available to display in pop-up windows accessible on the Message Tracker search results page. Enabling attribute collecting is recommended. However, if you experience slower Message Tracker performance, you may want to disable attribute collecting to determine whether this has an effect.
- Maximum number of attributes to collect – The maximum number of attributes Activator can collect for possible use in the pop-up windows. If the number of collected attributes is at or near the maximum, you can increase the number in this field or go to the attribute page and delete some attributes to make room for new ones. To open the page select Message tracker > Select attributes for pop-up windows.
