Backup and restore

Overview

Activator provides tools for creating backup files of the following parts of your configuration:

System backup – Creates a comprehensive backup of your entire Activator configuration.

Community backup – Creates a backup of a specific Community and its related Partners.
See Back up a community and its partners.
Partner backup – Creates a backup of a specific Partner and its associated configuration setting and keys.
See Back up a partner.
Selective object backup – Creates a backup of a single selected object or a group of objects of the same object type.
See Back up selected objects.

After you create backups, you can use them in several ways:

Restoration:

Restore all or part of the Activator system configuration to the Activator instance where you created the backup.
Restore a single community (and its partners) to the Activator instance where you created the community backup.
Restore a single partner to the Activator instance where you created the partner backup.
Restore a single object, or restore a selected group of objects of the same type.

Deployment and promotion:

Deploy or promote all or part of the Activator System configuration to another Activator environment.
Deploy or promote a single community (and its partners) to another Activator environment.
Deploy or promote a single community as a partner to another Activator environment.
Deploy or promote a single partner to another Activator environment.

Share Activator partner configurations with your trading partners (if they use Axway applications).
Deploy or promote a single object, or selected group of objects of the same type.
