Add an AS4 polling client pickup

Use this procedure to add a trading pickup to a community for polling a partner for AS4 messages.

Prerequisite

You must have at least one of each of the following objects:

Community - To add a community, see Add a community.
Partner – To add a partner, see Add a partner to a community.
Partner AS4 trading delivery, see Add an AS4 trading delivery.

Procedure

From the menu bar select Trading configuration to open the Communities page.
Click the name of the community to which you want to add the AS4 pickup.
In map graphic, click the Trading pickup icon to open the Trading pickups page.
Click Add a pickup to open the exchange wizard.
On the Choose message protocol page, select AS4 (HTTP) and click Next.
On the Choose HTTP transport type page, select Define a new AS4 polling client and click Next.
Click Choose partner delivery... and select an AS4 partner delivery. Then click OK. The parameters of the selected delivery are used to populate the fields
On the AS4 polling client page, complete the fields:
- Partner name – This field is automatically populated based on the partner delivery exchange selection.
- Delivery URL – This field is automatically populated based on the partner delivery exchange selection.
- Message partition channel (MPC): – This field is automatically populated based on the partner delivery exchange selection.
- The Message Partition Channel(MPC) is a required attribute of any AS4 message exchange. MPCs enable the partitioning the flow of messages from a sending participant a receiving participant, into several flows that can be controlled separately and consumed differently. MPCs also allow for merging flows from several sending participants, into a unique flow that will be treated as such by a receiver.
- Override message partition channel (MPC) – Enter an alternative MPC identifier to override the value specified in the "Message partition channel (MPC)" field. The same value must be configured for the polled queue on your partner's machine.
  - If you leave this field blank, the MPC on the selected partner delivery exchange is applied for the exchange. If the partner delivery exchange MPC field is also empty, then the default-implicit (empty) MPC is applied for the exchange.
  - If you enter the default-explicit MPC, this default MPC is applied for the exchange. (Default is http://docs.oasis-open.org/ebxml-msg/ebms/v3.0/ns/core/200704/defaultMPC).
  - If you enter an alternative MPC identification, the alternative is applied for the exchange.
Click Next.
On the "Exchange name" page, enter a meaningful name for the pickup.
Click Finish.

After you create an AS4 polling client pickup

When you add an AS4 pickup, the pickup is displayed in the list of pickups in the Community's "Trading pickups" page. When you add the pickup, the product automatically assigns a set of default values. You can open the pickup and modify these values to optimize trading characteristics.
